Does DRISHTIQ ever cancel events?

DRISHTIQ Events and Workshops are occasionally canceled if there’s insufficient interest, or if a teacher has an emergency.  If your event is canceled, you will be notified via email.

I can’t attend an event/workshop I reserved for. Can I give my reservation to a friend?

Unfortunately, all purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What is your event/workshop cancellation policy?

Workshop Cancellation Policy: 48 Hours before the event:  If you register for a workshop but are unable to attend please let us know at least 48 hours before the workshop is scheduled to begin. We will issue a credit to your account (minus a $5 transaction fee) and this credit can be used toward any future purchase.

If we receive your cancellation less than 48 hours before the event, we cannot issue a refund; however, if we are able to fill your space with someone from a waiting list we will give you an account credit (minus the $5 transaction fee) toward any future purchase.

What if I am not flexible?

We encourage you to worry less about touching your toes and more about developing a flexible mind. You don’t need to be physically flexible. Practicing yoga will help you to develop both. All you need is to come as you are, and let the process unfold. 99% of yoga is simply showing up to your mat. It’s that simple.

How often should I practice?

There are no set rules for how often to practice. Our classes are an excellent path to physical fitness for busy people because you can realize many benefits from practicing 2 or 3 times a week. If you are looking to make a real impact on your body in terms of your conditioning, strength, muscle tone, or weight, you should consider coming 4 or 5 times a week. As a new student, you should try to give yourself as much opportunity to practice as possible. Feel free to call or email us to discuss how your yoga practice at DRISHTIQ Yoga can help you achieve your fitness goals, or talk to your instructor about it before or after class.

Is yoga compatible with other forms of exercise (i.e. indoor cycling, lifting weights, marathon running, etc.)?

Yes. Practicing yoga consistently improves your flexibility and strength, which will increase your ability for a higher endurance workout. The fundamentals of your practice will carry over into your exercise routine for proper breathing and a higher self awareness.

Will I lose weight?

Many students with a regular yoga practice find excess pounds drop away without drastic changes in diet. A typical 60 minute session of our yoga classes will burn anywhere from 350-600 calories depending on a number of factors including your weight, gender and how strenuous your practice is.

What is Vinyasa?

Vinyasa technically means flow with the breath. It is the combination and transition of multiple postures. We combine postures on the left and the right side and take the “choppiness” out of the practice. It is a constant flow of poses throughout.

Is it ok to go running or perform any other cardio/ weightlifting activity before I take yoga?

Yes! Just make sure you have hydrated yourself. Electrolytes are great to have when you are going to and from classes. Most importantly…listen to your body!

Can I bring my child to class?

  • Yoga can build your child’s self-confidence, imagination and social skills while developing a healthy, flexible and strong body in a non-competitive environment.

  • Children 12 years and older may participate in all classes with parental permission.
