Open Your Hearts to The Power of Gratitude

We are in the month of November, the month that is associated with Thanksgiving. As we look forward to Thanksgiving we associate that with gratitude.

By definition it is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and return to kindness. Why is gratitude important? Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what we may receive, tangible or intangible. Gratitude helps us feel more positive emotions, get the most out of our experiences, can improve our health, help us deal with adversity, and also help build strong relationships. Gratitude can be a constant state of being.

When we are met with adversity it can be very challenging to feel grateful. This is when we can use our time on our mat to focus on what we have to be grateful for. Maybe start a gratitude journal to write down daily good and positive things that have happened. By practicing gratitude on and off our mats we not only make others feel better but we also feel better about ourselves and our lives.
