Deepen Your Practice 2020

We each begin yoga for our personal reasons. It may be for physical fitness, healing an injury or something you have experienced in your life, to find some stillness in the day, or even that euphoric feeling we get after savasana that we have a hard time finding anywhere else in our day. No matter how we begin, when we continue to practice yoga, we start noticing subtle changes in our lives. Whether it be in our bodies, our mind or our soul. It’s not necessarily intentional, it happens over time when we give ourselves space to feel it or notice it and not block what comes up for us.

In this community, we support one another as we grow in our practice. Whether it’s the first time yogi walking into a class, someone celebrating a 100, 200 or a 500 Om achievement, and cheering on our teacher training students that have made a commitment to their own transformation, either in their personal life or becoming a yoga teacher.

We want to help support each of you further in 2020 to grow your yoga practice. We believe in the power of this practice and how the benefits go way beyond the physical. When we truly keep a consistent practice, we start noticing how to shift our energy when we are in chaos, stressful situations or even need to steady ourselves at work or at home when we are off the mat. We often don’t intentionally mean for these shifts in ourselves to happen. However, when we become more aware of how we feel and how we interact with the world around us; we notice the power of the practice in our lives.

Starting January 2020, you will notice that each month we will have a different theme for our classes at the studio. We will be incorporating this theme into every class in some way, whether it’s through building to a peak physical pose, a pranayama or chakra focus, or even a yoga sutra that represents the theme for the month. Each teacher will bring their own unique perspective on the monthly theme into their classes to grow each of your practices further. You will notice that the variety of our classes will intertwine with the theme.

We believe this consistency will create surprising benefits for each and every one of you. For example, if you are working to a peak pose in a hot class such as a backbend for the month; when you attend non-heated classes, yin or restorative classes, you will be focusing on building strength around your joints and fascia tissue to allow for more flexibility and creating more freedom in backbending in your other classes. Our newsletter will provide a deeper understanding each week around the theme for the month as we dig into benefits of the physical poses, subtle body, pranayama and more to grow your knowledge.

We can’t wait to hear your feedback and how you find this benefiting your mind and body in your yoga practice in 2020. We love watching each of your journeys and finding ways to support your growth and goals! This community is unique and one that will meet you wherever you are in your practice. Our hope is to continue to be your safe place that is your second home where you find friendship, growth, stillness, and happiness.
